Even so, there’s no reason to fret. Genetic predisposition is not the only factor that can play a part in your getting heart disease. There are many other factors that can counteract genetic predisposition, and these measures can have a greater impact on the lifelong health of your heart. Bearing in mind a few tips, you can enhance and preserve the health of your heart.

Ways to have a Healthy Heart
If you add a sedentary lifestyle to poor nutritional habits, a dangerous scenario ensues, for it can lead to many health issues (for instance, coronary heart disease). You can ward off heart trouble by making lifestyle changes now. Here follows some workable tips that can significantly impact your heart.
* Make sure to eat plenty of heart-healthy fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and foods rich in fiber.
* Include seafood in your diet, and make sure to have at least two portions of fish weekly.
* Watch out for how much trans and saturated fat you consume, in addition to your level of cholesterol. Fat should represent no more than 30% of your daily caloric intake. If you eat animal fat, you can lower some of the saturated fat from your diet. As for trans fat reduction, watch out for hydrogenated vegetable oils.
* Avoid too much sodium. Reducing your salt intake will improve the health of your heart.
* Pick out the reduced- or fat-free dairy products.
* Attempt to receive nutrients from food instead of just relying on vitamins. Beans, for example, taste good and provide many benefits with its vitamins and minerals.
* If you don’t exercise, start. Exercise is instrumental in keeping your heart strong. Exercising helps control blood pressure and cholesterol, as well as helping to prevent diabetes. Exercising for 30 minutes a day, five times a week, will provide lifelong benefits. These 30 minutes can be broken up in 15-minute increments, such as walking in the morning and early evening. If you’re overweight, steer clear from fad diets that promise miracles but delivers only short-term results at best. These diets can put a lot of strain on your body and your heart.
* Tai chi is good for the heart, helps posture and balance, and can be practiced by people of all conditions and age groups. Try it!
* Steer clear of smoking. You heart’s health depends on you not smoking.
